Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors, 

 

Model United Nations has always been a cherished club in our school community, and it is with great pleasure and honour that we welcome you to the twelfth edition of the annual CPSSMUN conference. From the very beginning in 2015, CPSS MUN began with a small yet passionate organization. Now, that club has grown to over 250+ delegates, who present themselves at every conference with pride and showcase the hard work, collaboration and dedication that define our community. 

 

Central Peel’s Model United Nations has become a community that creates passionate leaders and unforgettable memories. However, this club would not be possible without the unwavering support and effort of our delegates, faculty advisors, the school, and our Peel community. We cannot thank you enough. 

 

This year, the CPSSMUN team, from our Secretariat, faculty advisors, directors, and staff, have worked tirelessly to create a conference experience that will be unforgettable for all. From General Assemblies and Specialized Agencies to Joint Crisis and Crisis Committees, there is a committee at CPSSMUN for every delegate. The Secretariat team and directors have carefully arranged a selection of committees that will provide delegates with a unique array of experiences and opportunities. Jump into this year’s Crisis Committees and explore the complex, tangled world of Arcane, fueled by magic and technology, or step into a world of deceit, secrets, and a dangerous family inheritance in A Series of Unfortunate Events; explore the world of angels and demons in The Last Accord, or challenge your fate in the dystopian lands of The Maze Trials. Debate on the future of outer space commercialization in our General Assembly, and in our two Specialized Agencies, revitalize American basketball and develop human rights and anti-terrorism legislation in the 2024 USA Basketball Olympics and United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre, respectively. 

 

While the CPSSMUN Directors and Secretariat team have worked to put together this conference and its artful committees, it is the delegates who truly make it shine. Every year, delegates display a passion and creativity in their committees that awes us, and this year is no exception as we eagerly await what you have in store for us. In our final year of high school, this conference is the culmination and final representation of all the experiences and treasured memories we have made over the years with MUN. As such, we wish you all the best of luck and success in each of your committees, and hope this conference will be just as memorable and joyful for you to experience, as it was for us to create.
